LOCAL basketball clubs have undergone only minor changes in senior coaching ranks during the off-season with the majority of team leaders returning in 2010.
At Ringwood both Ken Harrington (men) and Tim Mottin (women) have been reappointed for their respective Big V teams.
Ringwood's men are coming off a grand final appearance and will no doubt be eager to take an extra step next year, while the Lady Hawks will want to quickly erase a disappointing 2009 season with improved performances.
In the SEABL, Kilsyth is celebrating the signing of former Bulleen WNBL and assistant Opals coach Cheryl Chambers, who will lead the women's team.
With an eye to developing the club's younger brigade, Chambers has joined the Cobras after taking the Boomers to last year's WNBL grand final.
At Warrandyte, Justin Nelson will lead the women's team for a fourth successive season and after three consecutive finals appearances will be focused on another big run into the play-offs.
The Venom are also preparing for the entry into the Big V of their first senior men's team, a move that has already led to more than 40 players attend try-outs under coach Kelvin Bowers.
Having spent 11 years at senior level at Sunbury and taking in coaching stints at Diamond Valley and Sandringham, Bowers joined Warrandyte to build a successful men's program.
