THE Knox Ford Raiders have confirmed leading import and reigning SEABL East Conference most valuable player CJ Massingale will return next year for his fifth successive season at the club.
Following a championship in 2006, the Washington native took his game to another level this year under new head coach Graham Longstaff, producing a more up-tempo style of play that aided his passion to score.
Massingale led the league in scoring at 27.4 points per game, to go with 7.7 rebounds and 2.1 assists.
He was regarded as the league's most explosive player, and played memorable games against Mt Gambier (37 points), Geelong (47 points), Nunawading (37 points) and Bendigo (37 points).
Massingale cited his loyalty to Knox and the challenges of repeating its conference championship and going further to the overall SEABL championship as major factors in his decision to return to the navy and gold.
"There's such a great support base at Knox and I'm looking forward to coming over with my fiance this time around. The people around Knox are more than welcoming and the club is great to be part of."
Massingale will return around late January and look to enhance his reputation as Knox's greatest import.
